FAQ

  • What is areeka web’s mission?
Our mission is to make online psychotherapy available, and accessible, to Arabic speakers around the world. We aim to offer you the best online therapy experience possible by partnering with top, specialised psychologists and therapists from around the world, who speak your language. Your mental health and well-being, as well as your privacy and the security of your information, are among our highest priorities.
  • How is my privacy protected?
We are HIPAA compliant. areeka web takes the protection and security of your privacy and information very seriously. Our website operates according to the standards of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA). Compliance with this Act ensures that we have taken all steps necessary to keep your information safe, secure and confidential. All chat data is encrypted on our servers, as well as all communication between our software and the servers. You are required to enter your password every time you access your dashboard from a new device, and follow a verification process in order to make sure it is you.
  • How does online therapy with areeka web work?
areeka web utilises a matching tool to find the therapist who suits you best, based on your responses to six questions. Our system will select a few professionals for you to consider in more detail. Read through their profiles and select the one you feel most comfortable about. Once you have selected your therapist, choose a subscription plan and you will be ready to begin. Through your Dashboard, you will be able to schedule recurring video sessions with your therapist, send text/voice messages and documents, and conduct your live therapy video sessions.
  • What is a live video session?
A live video session is a one-on-one online video therapy session with your therapist in which you can openly discuss whatever is on your mind. Each session runs for 45 minutes. This is sufficient time to uncover your goals and gain momentum in the therapy process. You may choose to keep your camera off during these sessions if that helps you to feel more comfortable and turn it on once you have gained more confidence. On average, eight out of 10 members find themselves getting better results with at least one video session per month. Your live video session is accessible from all devices, regardless of where you may be. That is the beauty of online therapy.
  • What languages do areeka web’s therapists speak?
We know how important clear communication is when it comes to therapy, so areeka web has partnered with therapists from around the globe. When you complete our questionnaire, you will be asked to select your preferred communication language. This will assist us in matching you with a therapist who communicates fluently in your chosen language, and who is specialised in the areas that are of concern to you. Our therapists are fluent in three main languages - Arabic, English and French. To find out if we have therapists who speak a particular language, please send an email to [email protected]

If you decide to cancel your plan, you will be charged for the current cycle and the cancellation will take effect once the current cycle ends.
  • How can I change my subscription plan?

You will then be able to select a new therapist from a recommended list.

  • Can a minor benefit from areeka web?
A minor (a person under the age of 18) can sign up to areeka web and benefit from being matched with a specialised psychologist upon the consent of a parent or legal guardian. The legally responsible adult must read and sign a consent form. Once submitted, the minor and the parent/guardian will be directed to the questionnaire, after which the minor will be matched with a specialised therapist. The legally responsible adult must be present during the introductory session with the therapist. After the initial consultation, the minor is able to contact his/her therapist at any time without the presence of an adult. Confidentiality is a requirement, but the therapist will alert the legally responsible adult if red flags are raised.
